He spent more than two decades working with reactive skin at his Korean medicine clinic near Gangnam Station in Seoul. What Baegayul means

The house behind the rhythm

Push skin too hard, and it answers with redness and sting. Water it, soothe it, and give it room to settle.

Balance, kept simple. Skin that is watered, soothed, and left to its own steady rhythm.

Meet our founder

Built from one patient story

Jo Seok-yong founded Bluecellab in Seoul in 2017 with one principle: calm the skin before asking more of it.

The historical origin story: Baegayul began with an herbal ointment he made at his clinic for one bride-to-be. Word spread, and that patient-first idea became a short shelf of balance-first formulas. Today’s Baegayul products are cosmetics, not medical treatments.

Formulation philosophy

Balance first

When the barrier has been worked too hard, more actives are not the answer. Start with hydration, then seal it in.

Stronger ingredients come later and slowly. We would rather you keep a short routine than chase another rescue.

How we formulate

Our formulation principles

The rules every formula passes before it earns a place.

Balance before intensity

Hydration and soothing herbal actives come first, so the barrier stays comfortable rather than overworked.

Korean herbal ingredients

Cica, Job's Tears, and yuja connect each formula to Korean botanical knowledge, with every benefit stated precisely.

Made with sensitive skin in mind

Every formula is made to sit gently on skin that reads harsher products, and to hold a place in a simple daily routine.
